Film & Cook, el festival que marida cocina y cine | Film & Cook the festival that combines food and cinema

Film & Cook es un festival de cine gastronómico que, en su 3ª edición, aspira a ser una cita obligatoria para todos los amantes de estos 2 artes. El objetivo de Film & Cook es descubrir, trabajar y experimentar la relación entre los conceptos cine y la gastronomía, involucrando al espectador en las actividades. 

El festival congregará a grandes chefs, proyecciones de temática gastronómica (cortos y largometrajes) venidas de todos los rincones del mundo, generará actividades en torno al universo culinario, a través de varias degustaciones gratuitas (de cerveza Damm, galletas orgánicas de Paul & Pippa, cócteles míticos del cine como el Vodka Tonic de Lost in Traslation, el Orange Whip de los Blues Brothers, el Whisky Sour de The Seven Year Itch, el Tim Collins que Robert De Niro bebía en Los Padres de Ella o el gin tonic favorito de James Bond en el film Dr. No) y acercará los secretos de las mejores cocinas al público de la mano de los protagonistas de este arte, mediante charlas, coloquios y talleres.

Algunas de las principales figuras del panorama gastronómico nacional, como Albert Adrià, Quique Dacosta, Ramón Freixa, Angel León, Andoni Luis Aduriz y David Muñoz entre otros, formarán parte de la sección Cooks en la que presentarán sus propias cintas gastronómicas o maridarán una de las proyecciones del festival. Por otro lado, Film & Cook ha creado una sección en la cual se podrá asistir al maridaje entre el cine clásico y la mixología moderna, de la mano de cuatro de los mejores cocteleros de España, Diego Cabrera, Alberto Pizarro, Sergio Padilla y Héctor Henche. Además, Schweppes ha diseñado cuatro cócteles únicos inspirados en los cuatro films clásicos que se proyectarán al final de cada jornada: Casablanca, La Quimera del Oro, 2001: Una odisea en el espacio y Como agua para chocolate.

Film & Cook is a food film festival that, in its 3rd edition, is bound to become a “must-see” for all lovers of film, food and innovative, quality events. Calling to all five senses and to the ever-increasing sensibility of the public towards everything related to culinary and audio-visual art, Film & Cook is destined to be a cultural event of reference at a national level. 

The festival will bring together chefs, culinary film projections from all corners of the world, activities around the culinary universe, through several free tastings (Damm beer, Paul & Pippa organic cookies, cinema´s legendary cocktails like the Vodka Tonic of Lost in translation, the Orange Whip of the Blues Brothers, the Whisky Sour from The Seven Year Itch, the Tim Collins that Robert De Niro drunk in Meet the Parents or the favorite James Bond´s gin tonic in the film Dr. No), sharing the secrets of the best cooks by the hand of the protagonists of this art through lectures, symposia, and workshops.

A closer look at the programme of Film & Cook 2013 reveals the presence of some of the foremost personalities in the national cooking world. Albert Adrià, Quique Dacosta, Ramón Freixa, Angel León, Andoni Luis Aduriz and David Muñoz, among others, will participate in the Chefs section, in which they will present their own gastronomic reels or combine their own presentations with screenings from the festival. The competitive section, Films, will host some of the most representative international film productions of our time. On the other hand, Film & Cook has led to the creation of a new section in which blends between classic cinema and modern mixology will be showcased. Thanks to the work of four of Spanish top bartenders, Diego Cabrera, Alberto Pizarro, Sergio Padilla and Héctor Henche, Schweppes has designed four unique cocktails, inspired from four classic films that will be screened at the end of each session: “Casablanca”, “The Gold Rush”, “2001: A Space Odyssey” and “Like Water for Chocolate”.
